The Williams College Children’s Center has a warm and inviting program with state-of-the-art facilities developed expressly for early childhood education. The College is recruiting a full-time experienced Resource Assistant Teacher to join our team dedicated to providing quality child care and education. Resource teachers work in all classrooms – infants, toddlers, pre-school, and the school age classroom as a vital part of classroom support.
Resource teachers should have a thorough knowledge of early education and care principles and a solid background in developmentally appropriate practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a collaborative team to create project based curriculum that is responsive to children’s interests and strengths as well as enthusiastically participating in school-wide staff inquiry and development.
Candidates must meet the Professional Child Care Qualifications established by the Department of Early Education and Care for both Infant/Toddler and Pre-school certification. A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience teaching pre-school in an early care setting is preferred. I'm a husband, father, Williams parent, lawyer, hiker, avid reader (especially history and biography) and lousy golfer. I bleed Purple! Carol and I love good country walks and mountain hikes. I'm fascinated by geology and paleontology. I was a law school adjunct instructor several years ago and loved every minute of it — so much so that I would like to find time to teach again. (Something — law, government — someday, somewhere?)
