Fitness Classes at Williams

  • Proper ID required for all programs. See Class Guidelines for details.
  • Programs (and area opportunities as noted) qualify for $150 Blue Cross Blue Shield reimbursement after first four months. One reimbursement per family per calendar year. Download the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Fitness Benefit Form or pick one up in Human Resources lobby.

Williams Walks! - Ongoing

These will be gentle, easy lunchtime walks. They are intended to encourage everyone to just get up and get out for a few minutes a day.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 12:10 to 12:40 meeting in front of Jesup; Walks will be led by members of the Williams wellness committee.

NEW! Strength + Conditioning
Summer session 7/28-9/3

Progressive training focusing on improving quality of movement and strength through progressive overload.  This class is limited to 10 participants and will take place in the Lower Lasell Weight Room.

A class focused on high-intensity strength and conditioning exercises, participants will use kettlebells, medicine balls, jump ropes, bodyweight, and more for a full body resistance and cardio workout in under an hour.

Yoga (intermediate)

In intermediate yoga we practice vinyasa flow, alignment, and asana specifics. The class can range from moderate to vigorous intensity and is designed to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and focus. In light of our physical uniqueness, individuals are encouraged to explore postures in a way that allows for an optimal experience in their own bodies.

Yoga In Detail: All Levels Yoga
Fall session begins 8/31/15- 12/18/15

Devin will lead an approachable class for beginners, experienced practitioners, and everyone in between. Classes will progress to safely and intelligently move the body: stretch and tone in new, fun ways with detailed instruction! In addition to physical benefits of yoga, class can also help you both emotionally and mentally. Each class will be slightly different, but you will walk away knowing postures confidently and with a wealth of knowledge to serve you for years to come. Sign-up for the whole session to watch your practice grow, or drop-in for just a class to learn some new details and ideas to move mindfully.

Dynamic Yoga (Open Level)
Fall session begins 9/1/15-12/17/15


This class begins with meditation and seated stretches to help shed the noise of the day. We build to an energetic sequence of vinyasa flow movements, coordinating breath and movement. With close attention to alignment, we usually work towards variations of one or two challenging poses. With creative sequencing, fun music, and a long savasana, this is great way to end the work day.

Gentle Yoga (Open level)
Fall session begins 8/31/15-12/18/15

Gentle Yoga nurtures beginners and students of any level who seek a slower, more contemplative practice. Paying close attention to alignment and sequencing, Mary is careful to assess individual needs and to offer safe variations so that the yoga poses and transitions are accessible to every body in the room. Strengthen and lengthen your muscles, create greater flexibility in your joints, and improve your balance and focus. Through regular practice, you will also cultivate a greater sense of well-being and peace.
