Join us to catch the World Premiere of local playwright Anne Undeland’s historical drama Lady Randy, about Jenny Jerome, mother of Winston Churchill. The play was first developed by Undeland and director Jim Frangione at the Berkshire Playwrights’ Lab, making this a true collaboration of outstanding regional talent. It is produced by WAM Theatre and presented on the stage at Shakespeare & Co in Lenox.
Synopsis: In 1875, the American heiress, Jennie Jerome, seemed to have have it all. She had married an English lord, she was young, rich and beautiful, and she had just given birth to Winston Churchill. Lady Randy takes us on a dizzying ride through the treacherous, kaleidoscopic sexual and political landscape of her marriage. A woman ahead of her time, Jennie kept everyone watching, kept them guessing, and she never, ever surrendered.
We will leave together by van from Williamstown, watch the production in Lenox, and meander back via Pittsfield’s Methuselah Bar and Lounge (based on group preference). Participants can also use their own transportation.
Cost: $15 discounted ticket sponsored by Spouse-Partner Resources. Tickets on first-come availability, with priority given to spouses/partners. Please RSVP as soon as possible, by emailing Cecilia Hirsch at [email protected]
