Come learn about Mount Hope! We will park and meet at the entrance of the estate, at Mount Hope Park, and head to the Georgian, 72 room Elm Tree Mansion by way of the historic Mount Hope Farm property. While we won’t see any interiors, we’ll talk about how the property was cleared and developed as one of the most innovative farms in the nation by the daughter of John D. Rockefeller Sr., and how it was gifted to Williams College.
Our walk and history musings will last about an hour, but feel free to leave whenever you need.
Note on access: This walk is on paved road but has a long uphill stretch. Please contact us if you would need accommodations to avoid the hill.
Meeting location: Mount Hope Park off of Hopper Road. Hopper Rd is 2.2 miles north of the junction of MA 43 and US-7 in in the section of Williamstown known as South Williamstown, or just head down Water St. from the center of Williamstown until it turns into Route 43.
