Functional Fitness w/Ashleigh Yager

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm

Greylock Studio

Explore the five basic movement patterns – squat, hinge, push, pull, and carry – that support the repetitive actions and demands of life. Accessible to all fitness levels, this class combines mobility, balance, and stability drills, basic weight training, and introductory Pilates principles to help understand and develop core strength. Gain confidence, knowledge, and range of motion with a comprehensive, full body workout. Maximum 10 participants.

Ashleigh Catsos Yager is a NASM certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, writer, and mom. Before Williamstown, she was in NYC, working as an actor, playwright, and professional nanny…until she found her way to fitness. She has studied and taught movement in many forms over the years, including yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, barre, sculpt, TRX, and strength and conditioning. She is experienced in pre-and post-natal exercise, and holds a NASM fitness nutrition certification. She is also the Fitness Coordinator for Wellbeing at Williams, and instructs at Greylock Yoga+Movement in North Adams. Her classes are fun and informative, thoughtfully programmed, and accessible to all bodies. She plans and instructs around the beliefs that exercise should feel good (workouts can be effectively challenging without being needlessly hard), and that movement is integral to physical and mental wellness. Move a muscle, change a thought.
