Important tax withholding changes for individuals who reside in CT, NY, and VT

The College’s remote work policy has required the college to establish a business presence in the state where we allow remote workers. This means that in addition to Massachusetts and Connecticut (Mystic Program), we now have an established presence in New York and Vermont.

The college is now required to withhold and pay taxes in these states. This means that employees who reside and/or work in Connecticut, New York, or Vermont must complete additional tax forms to withhold income taxes for their state of residence.

Paper forms are available in Human Resources or can be accessed online. Completed forms can be dropped off or mailed to HR at 100 Spring St, Suite 201, Williamstown, MA, 01267.

Vermont Withholding Tax Form

New forms should be submitted by December 2, 2022, to ensure adequate time for processing and entry.

If forms are not received for individuals who live or work in these states, state withholding will default to the highest amount beginning in January 2023.
