Williams College is currently seeking temporary workers to fill a variety of roles on campus for the Fall 2020 semester. Full-time and part-time positions are available, including temp to hire opportunities.

Dining
Cook and Cook’s Assistant
Working under the supervision of the First and Second Cooks, these positions are responsible for assisting with food preparation, safe food preparation/handling, and service. The primary focus of this position is creating, preparing, and serving food with the highest quality, following pre-established menus and recipes along with observing standard compliance codes for the overall function of the kitchen to ensure accuracy in identifying food allergens.
Utility Worker
Utility workers assist in a broad range of duties in Dining Services including food preparation, maintaining and cleaning all kitchen and service areas, and building set-ups.
For all of the above, individuals must be able to work independently, stand for prolonged periods of time, and handle heavy material involving lifting and bending. Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to serve guests with the highest level of professional service. Various full-time and part-time Dining positions available starting at $15 per hour.
Campus Safety
Campus Safety Officer/Dispatcher
This position serves a dual role as a Campus Safety and Security Officer and Dispatcher for the College. Ensuring the safety of the community via diligent patrol, life safety checks and service to the campus community. They also ensure the safety of the community via monitoring of the campus alarm systems, phone lines, radio network, weather sources, handling walk-in customers and acting as an ambassador of the department and college.
Candidates must be able to read and interpret documents, write routine log entries, speak effectively on the telephone, radio, and in person, and simultaneously handle emergency situations along with routine CSS department/switchboard duties. Valid driver’s license and basic computer skills required. Full-time and part-time positions available, starting at $16.50 per hour.
Facilities
Custodian
This position provides general cleaning and sanitation throughout designated areas on campus, including but not limited to bathroom cleaning, trash removal, and wiping of commonly touched surfaces. Provides snow shoveling in the winter, and other duties as assigned.
Experience in general cleaning and sanitation is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team environment with limited supervision. Custodial staff utilize wearable equipment, such as backpack vacuums, and lift up to 50 pounds. Various shifts. $16 per hour.
Trades
Temporary General Maintenance Technicians are needed to support Facilities staff serving the
campus community. This position is responsible for the safe and careful maintenance of campus buildings and building systems. Experience with any of the following trades is preferred: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, or automated controls. A positive attitude and energetic work ethic are essential. Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts may be available. Pay rates commensurate with experience.
