Williamstown Emergency Rental Assistance Program Has Grants up to $10,000

The Williamstown Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) and Berkshire Housing Development Corporation (BHDC) are partnering to distribute EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE for eligible Williamstown residents who have suffered financial setbacks due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

What: Emergency grants UP TO $10,000 will be distributed to qualified applicants.

Who: Residents of Williamstown who are at or below 100% Area Median Income (AMI)* and who rent housing in Williamstown and who have been adversely affected by the Covid-19 crisis are eligible to apply.

How: Online applications are available at the Berkshire Housing Development Corporation website or by calling BHDC at 413-499-1630 Ext. 100 to leave a message. Paper applications are available at the Williamstown Food Pantry at 53 Southworth Street and at the Williamstown Post Office on Spring Street.

Why: The AHT seeks to assist the Williamstown rental community in this time of need by using funds made available to it by Town Meeting on the recommendation of the Community Preservation Committee.

*With respect to financial eligibility, the Area Median Income (100% AMI) is based on government figures and household size: household of 1, $55,230; household of 2, $63,120; household of 3, $71,010; household of 4, $78,900; household of 5, $85,212; household of 6, $91,524; household of 7, $97,836; household of 8, $104,148. Households over 100% AMI are ineligible. Households with 80% AMI or less will get priority (so households between 80% and 100% of AMI are eligible to apply, but will not get priority).
