The Plus One Network

Why the Plus One Network?

For couples, managing dual careers plays a large part in their life planning. The Plus One Network understands this balance and  the importance of supporting both members of a couple as they join their communities and build personal and professional networks.

Many Member Institutions; One Platform

Educational institutions in rural or semi-rural areas like New England and upstate New York join the Plus One Network. In turn, the Network assists educational institutions support their employees by connecting spouses/partners to professional and personal opportunities. For the Williams College community, this translates to a wider network beyond the Berkshires region.

How Does It Work?

The Plus One Network helps dual-career couples at Williams take an active role in advancing both partners’ careers and social networks. Spouses/partners of employees at Williams College gain access to resources and cohorts, job postings, networking events, workshops, and speakers; also, to the possibility of interacting with a wide array of other professionals and spouse/partners.

All these are available at NO COST to Plus One Network users. Membership is covered by Williams College.

Who Runs It?

Together, the Five Colleges, Inc. and Williams College are founding members.  Operationally, the network is based out of the Five Colleges, Inc., a consortium between Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College and U Mass Amherst.

The Office of Spouse/Partner Resources at Williams College co-manages the platform and develops Network programming.
