12:00 - 1:00pm Gyrokinesis with Patrie in the Greylock Studio
GYROKINESIS® classes, through flowing multi-dimensional whole-body movements help unravel the muscular imbalances in your body by affecting the fascia – a sheath of stringy connective tissue that surrounds every part of your structure. Healthy fascia is flexible and stretches with you. We start with intentional uprightness, breathing deeply seated on stools to awaken the senses. We then begin to move the spine - arch & curl, spirals, side arching, undulating - with pulsating, rhythmic breathing patterns, to awaken deeper core abdominals, along with the back muscles, to support the spine. Tension begins to melt so your body is freer to explore more complex movements on the floor and standing. This creates a balanced, stable body. Maximum 20 participants
