Winter Fitness Classes – 2023

*Intro to Fitness Studio and Machines- FULL

Learn about the equipment and machines in the fitness studio, get a quick intro workout, and feel ready to come back on your own to use the space productively. There will be three different orientation/ workout sessions.
When: 
Wednesday, January 11th at 6:30am- Class is full
Thursday, January 19th at noon – Class is full
Wednesday, February 15th at 5:30pm- Class is full
Where: Upper Lasell Fitness Studio, 3rd floor
Who: Ashleigh Yager, fitness and yoga instructor and coordinator of Wellbeing at Williams fitness programs.

Spring Fitness Classes – 2023

The following classes will run from Monday, February 6th to Friday, May 26th
(No classes will be held during Spring Break from March 18th to April 2nd)

Faculty, staff, spouses/partners, retirees, and active recreation community members are welcome to join.

Registration and payment in full is required by Friday, February 3rd at 3:00pm. Each class is $75 per semester. Once you have registered, please bring your payment to Jill Mendel in the finance office, Hopkins Hall, Room 100 so we can confirm your enrollment prior to the start of class. Cash or checks made out to Williams College are accepted.

*Please note, no drop-ins are being accepted at this time. If the class becomes full, you will be placed on a wait list and notified once a spot become available.

Participants should bring water, dress comfortably and be prepared to move. With the exception of Spin, all classes require participants to bring their own mat. Get It All also requires aerobic shoes and weights.

  • 9:00 - 9:45am Pilates with Erin Lenski in the Greylock Studio
    Pilates offers spinal stabilization and healing through the interaction of the core while promoting strength and flexibility with low impact fluid motion. Some things you can expect in Erin’s Pilates class: deliberate and intentional movements focused on spine health and integrity; integration of breath as a vehicle for both alignment and engagement of the body; anatomically focused design and cues to ensure safe and effective movement; fun, laughter, and a playful sense of exploration. Maximum 20 participants

    10:00 - 10:45am Barre with Erin Lenski in the Greylock Studio
    This ballet-inspired fitness class pairs high-energy programming with low-impact movements. By utilizing micro-movements, muscles remain constantly engaged while joints are supported, creating deep muscular strength and endurance. Maximum 20 participants

    5:30 - 6:15pm Spin with Rachel Louis in the Lasell Spin Room
    Each uplifting 45-minute class is constructed around safe and anatomically focused transitions and cues, diverse terrains to simulate the “outdoor” experience, and heart rate training and working within the rider’s zones for maximum benefit.  Maximum 15 participants

  • 12:00 - 12:45pm Spin with Erin Lenski in the Lasell Spin Room
    Each uplifting 45-minute class is constructed around safe and anatomically focused transitions and cues, diverse terrains to simulate the “outdoor” experience, and heart rate training and working within the rider’s zones for maximum benefit. Maximum 15 participants

    12:00 - 12:55pm Athletic Yoga with Ashleigh Yager in Greylock Main Space
    This is not yoga “by the book.” Build strength, flexibility and perseverance in all planes of motion while developing the confidence to move freely as individuals (because who cares what it looks like if it doesn’t feel appropriate for one’s own body?). With a focus on slow and steady movement linked to breath, sweaty dynamic sequences, and prolonged isometric holds, this class is intended for those who have some knowledge of yoga and are ready to challenge their practice. Maximum 30 participants

    5:30 - 6:30pm Functional Fitness with Ashleigh Yager in Greylock Main Space
    How can fitness support the movements required in daily life? Through circuits, dynamic strength training, and smart programming, this class will leave participants feeling stronger, more flexible, and with the physical awareness to move safely through the activities and demand of the day-to-day. Maximum 20 participants

  • 6:15 - 7:15am Functional Fitness with Katherine Myers in Greylock Main Space
    How can fitness support the movements required in daily life? Through circuits, dynamic strength training, and smart programming, this class will leave participants feeling stronger, more flexible, and with the physical awareness to move safely through the activities and demand of the day-to-day. Maximum 20 participants

    5:30 - 6:15pm Spin with Erin Lenski in the Lasell Spin Room

    Each uplifting 45-minute class is constructed around safe and anatomically focused transitions and cues, diverse terrains to simulate the “outdoor” experience, and heart rate training and working within the rider’s zones for maximum benefit. Maximum 15 participants

    6:30 - 7:30am Get It All with Karen Pedercini in the Greylock Studio
    An upbeat workout designed for all fitness levels. Low impact/high intensity cardio followed by dumbbells and fitness bands for strength and muscle definition, finishing with ab work and stretching, providing a whole body work out. *Participants should bring aerobic shoes, water, an exercise mat, and weights. Maximum 15 participants

    12:00 - 1:00pm All Levels Yoga with Mary Edgerton in Greylock Main Space
    With an emphasis on safe alignment, skillful action, and connection to the breath, this All Levels Yoga Class welcomes newer and more experienced yoga students to practice together. Alternating between flowing movement and holding poses for longer, we'll explore a variety of options in poses and sequences, and will hopefully find a sense of peace and renewal at the end of class. Maximum 30 participants

The Fitness Reimbursement includes independent fitness studios, pools, full-service health clubs, virtual and on-campus classes, too!
